The Franchise Association of New Zealand is looking forward to celebrating the 2026 New Zealand Franchise Awards this year.

The Franchise Association of New Zealand is proud to bring the 31st celebration of its Franchise Awards in 2026, acknowledging the very best of franchising in New Zealand. These awards are the pinnicle in the franchising community and celebrate the best in New Zealand franchising. These annual awards recognise and celebrate the effort, innovation, and people of franchising in these awards for Franchise Association of New Zealand members. They recognise all that is great about franchising, and the people who make it a success.

Wednesday 8 April - registrations & submissions open

Monday 25 May - registrations close

Wednesday 1 July - submissions close

Saturday 14 November - gala dinner at Grand Millennium Hotel, Auckland

Updates to the 2026 New Zealand Franchise Awards

New categories

Franchise System Champion of the Year

This year we have introduced a new individual category. Franchise System Champion of the Year has been developed to celebrate an individual within a franchise system head office team who capably and calmly champions and embodies the values of the franchise and consistently delivers value.

Small Franchise System of the Year

Small Franchise System of the Year is a franchise system category, developed to recognise a small franchise business that demonstrates excellence in its approach to developing, growing and running its franchise system. It is open to franchise systems that have 10 or fewer franchisees.

Category updates

The Service Provider of the Year category has been renamed to ‘Advisor/Supplier of the Year’. The criteria and questions have not changed.

The Field Manager of the Year category has been renamed to ‘Franchise Support Manager of the Year’ to capture more of the roles doing the great work supporting franchisees.

Small Franchisee of the Year category criteria has increased from 2 full time employees to 4 full time employees.
