As a newly co-opted Board member, in a company new to franchising, it is my privilege to bring the new entrant perspective to the table.
I believe large and small business have much to learn from each other. As General Manager Retail of a Global Travel company, with 25 years’ experience in sales and marketing, distribution systems and leadership, I look forward to utilising my skills and extensive business connections to continue the evolution of Franchising in New Zealand.
A Canterbury University graduate, I have spent the majority of my career based in Christchurch, commuting weekly to the regions of New Zealand, appreciating the nuances of business in our big cities and our local communities. Roles have included Sales Manager South Island for Air New Zealand, responsible for stakeholder relationships in corporate, government and trade, prior to which I spent 23 years with Flight centre group working my way from Consultant to Senior Management, culminating in a global directors award for business performance in 2012.
My journey with helloworld travel started just 3 short years ago, in which time we have merged 3 historic brands into one culture, building best practice systems and restructuring our support networks for maximum impact. Our relentless focus is on delivering a market-leading value proposition which enhances both the franchisee and customer experience. For such a new brand, the accolades are many including NTIA Best travel Brand 2018, Canstar Blue 5 Star Service award and 9th Best Employer in New Zealand in the 2019 Ranstaad customer survey.
I look forward to continuing to be inspired by the passion, innovation and expertise I have witnessed across the Franchise sector since my involvement with FANZ, and to ensure, through good governance practices with my fellow Board members, that the sector is well represented, and members well served.
